It is very common to exchange data as simple CSV files, often created or manipulated in spreadsheet programs such as Microsoft Excel. The problem with this approach is that the data in the columns isn’t typed and the column headers are not standardised. It can be difficult for humans to know what the contents of a column represents. A standard column name is therefore proposed here.

Recommendation: When exchanging specimen data in CSV files the column that contains the URI of the IIIF Manifest associated with the specimen should be called iiifManifestUri.
